Capital B’s singular brand of ‘drenched-in-sweat-and-emotion’
rock and blues, his instinctive song-writing talents, passionate
guitar styling and intuitive instrumentation and arrangements of
classic styles and tones create a unique sound. It’s a signature
sound that’s further defined by his powerful lyrics, loaded with
life experience, delivered in an incredibly expressive baritone
voice with intense sincerity and emotion.
Capital B or, "The Artist Formerly
Known as Brian", as he playfully refers to himself on stage, returned
to the local Ottawa music scene in 1995 after an absence of nearly
20 years.
Brian had a promising musical career
in the early 1970’s, which included appearances at all of the prime
local venues of the day, such as The Chaudiere Club and the Ottawa
House. Showing his considerable diversity he also performed the
original Canadian rock opera "Louis Riel!" at the National Arts
Centre, in the Opera.
Never the less, he gave up music
entirely in 1975 and sold all of his guitars and gear in order to
pursue a successful career as a news and EFP cameraman, sound recordist,
and video editor for prominent Canadian broadcasters. These years
also held many struggles for this talented singer/songwriter. Now
after years of "being on the outside looking in," Capital B has
found that the key to his rediscovery of music and lyrics is inside
himself, and is drawn from life experiences.

Avalanche babe
that’s how you rolled right over me
And when the dust is settlin’,
I’m down,
I’m fallen like a broken tree
