B is Ottawa born F.Brian McPhillips. For the past year Capital
B has been focused only on this his current CD production
and not on live performances. "We’ve gigged about a dozen
times but my heads’ been into the music beds and arrangements,
instrumentation and so forth, consequently I haven’t been
pursuing bookings." Now all of that has changed. This CD features
11 ORIGINAL Titles. Several GUEST ARTISTS are featured on
the CD including: Brian Cox .. Soulful and authentic Harp
styles from the Crosscut Blues Band. Rock and Roll George
Stunning Blues Guitarist from the Jack-O-Diamonds Blues Band
out of Montreal. Peter Brown Accomplished pianist from the
Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo. Maria Hawkins Fine supporting and
Background Vocals. John Cormier Smooth Slide guitar on "Party
All-right" and Background Vocals. Alison Sharp Blended Background
Vocals, from The Soul Shakers. Kevin Kenny Drummer with a
touch from the Funky Presidents. Tim Roberts first Saxophone
from The Brian Downey Big Band. Relaxing on a regular basis
in STACCATO GROVE are Bass player extraordinare Kevin Sheldrick
and Eduardo Flores ,‘One hell of a drummer’ says’ Capital
B Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, the artist formerly known
as Brian McPhillips. "My bassist, Kevin, has been with me
almost since the beginning and performs with me on all of
these tunes. I’m not surprised though ‘STACCATO GROVE’ is
a Great Place to go." Then Capital B remarks’, "Listen to
me I sound like a Real Estate Agent." Kevin took up bass in
1976 and studied Jazz at St. Francis Xavier University in
1983. He studied with Rufus Ried, who in turn accompanied
such notables as Dizzy Gillespie and Dexter Gordon. Kevin’s
influences include James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey, Jaco Pastorius
